Shaina is a steward of life and guardian of riverways born near the Chi-Sippi (Rouge River) in T'karonto (Scarborough), territories whose original, current & future stewards include the Anishinaabe, the Haudenosaunee, and the Wendat First Nations.

My father was born in Mindoro, by way of Banton, Romblon (lola’s birthplace) and Ilocos Sur (lolo’s birthplace). My maternal roots are in Quezon and Batangas province. I ascend from a lineage of caretakers, circletenders, memory-keepers, and practitioners of anscience. My practise is inspired by reverence for the original instructions of all lands, and the memory & medicine they carry

As a person with lineage in the Tagalog (taga-ilog / from the river) region, I honour the freedom, migration & nomadism in my lineage led by the compass of riverways

I am a student of the earth, the elements, the riverways, and the specific lands of Mount Makiling, Palawan. I am also student of Ayurveda and the the Myrrophore lineages. My teachers include guardians of traditional medicine ways in the Philippines including some of those listed below, and my parents Roseller and Edilberta
